Genesis and the Gospel
Text: Genesis 18 & 19
Theme: God delivers the righteous from judgment.
Have you ever heard the story of Lot and the cities of Sodom and
Gomorrah? It includes an amazing rescue
Because of the wickedness of Sodom and Gomorrah God was going
to judge the city and destroy it (Gen 13:13; 18:20)
Abraham asks a heart-felt question
GEN 18:23 And Abraham drew near, and said, Wilt thou also
destroy the righteous with the wicked?
The angels of the Lord went to judge the cities. Let’s look at Gen
19:12-18 to see the intense story unfolding
But the bigger question is, what makes a man righteous? What
can I do to keep God from judging me?
