DOES MY DISOBEDIENCE REMOVE GOD’S WILL AND BLESSINGS ON MY LIFE?

The Will of God “Found”
Text: 1 Samuel 30:1-7
Theme: Where to turn when you have failed in the midst of God’s
will.
David had fought against the Philistines in 1 Sam 23, but now he is
joining forces with them to agree to fight his own people (1 Sam 27
& 28)
Discouragement and loss of hope often lead us to making sinful
decisions
While David made an unwise decision the Lord still protected him
by having the princes recognize him
There are times in our lives that we make mistakes/commit sins
and because of the consequences of our sin we need wisdom.
? What do we do? ? Who do we turn to now?
I. Encourage yourself for He is still there (v. 6)
At this point: the Philistines, the Amalekites and the Israelites
are all enemies of David…and maybe David was his own enemy
How do you encourage yourself in the Lord?
1. Reaffirm your personal relationship (v. 6)
2. Recall past victories (1 Sam. 17:37)
3. Refocus on truths from God’s word
4. Rely totally on the Lord
II. Inquire for yourself for He is still there (v. 7)
