The Will of God “Found”
Text: Genesis 45:1-9
Theme: Forgiveness gives freedom to both you and the one that 
offended you.
Forgiveness… this too is the will of God
I. When you’re offended you must maintain a forgiving spirit
(vv. 1-9)
? How is having a forgiving spirit even possible? 
Consider what we already have covered – knowing that this 
is the will of God (“God meant it unto good”)
2 COR 1:4 Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we 
may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by 
the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. 
6 And whether we be afflicted, it is for your consolation and 
salvation...
? You may ask, do I have to forgive someone who has not 
asked for forgiveness? 
II. When you are the offender you must allow yourself the 
freedom to move past the sin(s) you have committed (v. 5)
You too must consider the sovereign hand of God can even 
use your sinfulness and selfishness
Could it be that is why you don’t have peace? It isn’t 
because of what you did, but because of where your focus 
is. You won’t let it go
