GENESIS 24 – THE WILL OF GOD IN MARRIAGE

The Will of God “Found”
Text: Genesis 24
Theme: Biblical principles for God’s will in marriage. 
What is the one point I am trying to get across?
Do you want to marry the spouse that God wants you to marry or 
the one you want to marry? 
The story… Abraham wants to find a wife for his son, Isaac
He sends his most trusted servant, Eliezer to find a wife
Eliezer prays and the Lord leads him to Rebekah
Biblical principles for marriage (vv. 1-4)
Additional verses: John 17:15; James 4:4; 2 Cor 6:14-18
Depending on the age I believe that there should be parental 
involvement 
Parents should restrain a child from talking about love and 
relationships before they are old enough to marry
Dating vs courtship 
Biblical principles for finding a spouse (vv. 12-15, 26, 27)
If you are NOT praying then you are not seeking God’s will
Are you biblically in the place where the Lord will direct your
way?
