Sermon 5: Responding Biblically to Sinful Actions
Text: Psalm 142
Theme: Finding true peace in a true relationship with God.
What is the one point I am trying to get across?
God is our only hope – especially when being oppressed
Reading this Psalm it seems he has reached the place of hopelessness
? Do you feel hopeless? There is no one that can help you?
I. There is only one to listen (vv. 1-4)
Supplication – to seek for favor or grace
Complain – I think it is meditation
Valuable Psalms: Psa 140:6; 141:1; 143:1; 144:5
? What do you do with your trouble?
? Who do you cry to for help?
II. There is only one to help (vv. 5-7)
Ps 61:2 From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I. 62:5 My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.
