Sermon 1: Responding Biblically to Sinful Actions
Text: Psalm 140
Theme: Discovering how God would want me to respond to sinful attacks.

David is writing about Saul.  Saul who now has a band a warriors by his side…

I. The enemy attacks (vv. 1-5)

Known by his descriptions (vv. 1, 4, 11)


Known by his actions (vv. 2, 3, 5)


  I conclude by all this that this is a biblical enemy


II. Your proper biblical defense (vv. 6-13)

To pray to God (vv. 6-8)

David didn’t try to stop his enemy.  He asked God to do so

To trust in God – To allow for justice (vv. 9-11)

Those that are sinned against should seek for God’s glory


Ps 140:12 I KNOW that the LORD will maintain the cause of the afflicted, and the right of the poor.

  Peace will not come by their demise, but by knowing that the will of the Lord was done
