Sermon 4: Responding Biblically to Sinful Actions
Text: 1 Peter 3:8-12
Theme: Finding God’s righteous response to sinful attacks.
Often we “fall short” of glorifying God with our responses. When a person sins against you, what is the response that you should demonstrate that brings glory to God?
David tried to respond in a way that he thought was good, but it only led to additional sin and problems. Look at Psalm 39:1-3 to see this
? How would God have us to respond? What would glorify Him?
Peter was writing to Christians who were suffering persecution. He first establishes how suffering wrongfully pleases the Lord (1 Peter 2:19, 20)
He then uses Christ’s response as an example that we should follow (1 Peter 2:21-24)
Finally, he teaches several keys for all of us to follow (1 Peter 3:8-12)
