Sermon 26: How to have a Genuine Relationship with God
Text: Romans 6
Theme: God’s grace is greater than your sin.
Understanding what the “age of grace” is all about
God’s grace enables you as a Christian to live a victorious life!!
I. Renewing your mind (vv. 1-11)
The repentance principle
Repentance – a change of mind that leads to a change of living
v. 3 “Know ye not”
v. 6 “Knowing this”
v. 9 “Knowing that”
v. 11 “Likewise reckon”
You must take into account as a Christian that you are now dead to sin and alive unto God
Sin is not a result of living in the flesh; sin is a result of unbiblical and sinful thinking
II. Renovating Your Living (vv. 12-14)
The reigning/ruling principle
v. 12 “Let not sin therefore reign”
v. 13 “Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin”
NOTICE: Don’t give the control of your life BACK to sin!
