Sermon 24: How to have a Genuine Relationship with God
Text: Ephesians 4:25-32
Theme: God gives to you the keys to know how to change.
I love this passage because it teaches that we can stop sinning because God has and will continue to help us to change
I. You need to change your thinking before you can change our living (v. 23, 25-32)
Eph 4:23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
We all need to change
Lying – v. 25
Sinful responses – v. 26
Giving place to the devil – v. 27
Stealing – v. 28
Tearing people down – v. 29
Grieving the Holy Spirit – v. 30
Bitterness, sinful anger, sinful speaking and malice – v. 31
Come boldly to the throne of grace (ask God to help you)
II. It’s about you changing and exchanging (vv. 25-32)
The key to change is growth
God’s ultimate goals for your life: glorify Him, growing as a Christian, become like Christ
Let’s make it one – To glorify God by growing and changing to become more like Christ
The key to changing is exchanging
