Sermon 20: How to have a Genuine Relationship with God
Text: Psalm 119:1-11
Theme: God takes your desire to please God and enables you to please Him.
Sometimes when you miss the mark it isn’t because you aren’t aiming or you aren’t trying, it’s because you are aiming at the wrong target
Sometimes we feel like we have to change our lives to get close to God.
1. God loves you just like you are… (SS – Rom 5:6-10)
2. Get close to God and allow Him to change your life
What we “bring to the table” is desire to please God. What God “brings to the table” is righteousness through His Son
I. What kind of mentor do you want? (vv. 1-3)
II. What kind of model of Christianity do you want to be? (vv. 4-11)
Your relationship with the Lord won't change until it gets personal with you
