Sermon 18: How to have a Genuine Relationship with God
Text: Galatians 5:13-26
Theme: Keys to understanding the inner war and victory through the Spirit.
The Christian life often feels like a battle. How do I win?
I. The war within you (Gal 5:17)
The war didn’t start until you became a believer (Eph 2:1-3; 2 Cor 5:17; Gal 2:20)
Ro 8:5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. 6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
II. The Winner within you (Gal 5:17, 22-25)
U If I, as a Christian, am filled with the Spirit (allowing His control) I will be fulfilled by His fruit
? With this fruit, why would I want to follow my flesh?
The winner isn’t me. The winner is the Holy Spirit Who is producing fruit that will not only glorify God, but satisfy the Christian
