Luke 1; Matthew 1

Often Christians will claim to know Christ, but don’t always live their lives in such a way that glorifies Him. Let’s look at two examples of people who did.

I. Not my life but yours, Lord, to live (Luke 1:26-38)

Luke 1 records the announcement of two God-given, miraculous births – John the Baptist and Jesus Christ

Luke 1:37 For with God nothing shall be impossible.

Mary made a decision to surrender her life to be lived the way the Lord wanted her to live (Luke 1:38)

II. Not my will but Thine, Lord, be done (Matt 1:18-25)

Joseph had already received the information regarding Mary before the angel approached him (Matt 1:18-20)

Joseph again made a decision to allow the Lord to direct his life instead of following his own will (Matt 1:24)
