WHEN CHRISTMAS MEETS COMMUNION

Text: Galatians 4:1-7
Theme: Christ came to purchase our freedom – the gift of salvation.
Galatians 4:4-5 describes when communion meets Christmas
The message of Galatians is primarily Jewish (note key phrases or words in vv. 1-6)
Lest you think it is for the Jews only (Gal 3:13, 14)
In fact, once in Christ the distinctions are gone (Gal 3:26-28)
I. The wages of sin deserved (vv. 1-3)
It wasn’t enough to be Jewish
Here is the bondage that we are all under
II. The gift of God purchased (vv. 4-7)
Adequate time had elapsed for the Jewish people to appreciate the beauty of the Law of Moses and for humanity to demonstrate its inability to obey that Law – SO THE INNABILITY FOR THE LAW TO DELIVER/JUSTIFY MANKIND FROM THE CURSE OF THE LAW – MAN WAS GUILTY AND THEREFORE STOOD CONDEMNED!!
