Theme: The daily need for revival in the Christian’s life.
The idea of someone being revived is used several ways…
Psa 85 – the background… during their return from Babylonian captivity or just after their return
I. The transition that you must expect (vv. 1-6)
Revive – a single action that is in continual process
As God’s creation is sustained, so God’s reviving of the Christian is continual
II. The temptation that you will face (vv. 7, 8)
Key verse: Deut 4:9
Isa 57:15 For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.
