Psalm 62

I am trying to remain very biblical with my wording
When someone acts like an enemy in your home and sins
against you in word or deed they offend you. No matter how
many times it happens, it’s an offense

Our fundamental problem with each other is our
relationship with God – if we were at peace w/ God what
others say and do would not be as offensive to us

Psalm 62 – trusting in the Lord in the midst of being offended
Most of the time it seems with David that dealing with the
enemy is the last thing on his mind

I. The expectation of the psalmist (vv. 1, 2, 5-7)
Trusting God is not just trusting God for yourself, but trusting
God to do what is right with another.

II. The exhortation of the psalmist (v. 8)

We are prone to believe our peace comes from the other person
changing. Actually another person can’t control your peace.
You get relief from them changing, but not peace. Peace only
comes through a right relationship with God.
