Since we don’t know what is ahead of us in 2024 we need to learn to trust in the One that does. What does that look like?
I. What has been commanded? (vv. 5-8)
Prov 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Trust – to rely upon, to lean upon
Acknowledge – add-knowledge
Two temptations that will keep you from trusting the Lord
1. Depend on what you know – “lean not unto thine own understanding”
2. Believe that you know better OR know a better way – “be not wise in thine own eyes”
Be wise in God’s eyes, not your own eyes
II. What does that look like? (vv. 9-10)
Choose to live on less and have more
Some people will struggle with this more than others
