Sermon 6: Living in Anticipation of the Coming of Christ
Text: 1 Thessalonians 3:1-5
Theme: Satan wages a war against the Church that the Church must be aware of.
Paul’s defence of his apostleship shows a battle between both the physical and the spiritual (2 Cor. 11:23-28)
“We wrestle not against flesh and blood…” – there is a spiritual battle going on in the world in which we live
The context of the opening of chapter 3 must include 1 Thess 2:17-20
I. The pastor’s priority is to provide the spiritual help that is needed even in his absence
II. The pastor’s priority is to keep peoples’ eyes on the Lord
III. The pastor’s priority is to keep people growing

Application:
So, if the battle is so with the Church, then isn’t it true that it is also a battle for your own soul and the souls of your family?
