Theme: Discovering what is “fueling” your emotions.

Emotions are feelings
Emotions in and of themselves are not sinful
 What is the one point I am trying to get across? The goal is not 
to stop having emotions, but the goal is to identify the “root” of 
these emotional desires so that we can eliminate or minimalize 
the “triggers”
IN GENESIS 29 & 30: Emotions discussed: love, hatred, anger & envy
When trying to get to the heart of emotions we have to listen to 
what we/they are saying
Verses we will focus on today: Gen 29:30-35; 30:1, 2, 8, 12, 13, 
20) 
In this story I find two key verses: Gen 29:32 & 30:8
Let’s get to the heart or the root of what is going on at the seat of 
emotions
This isn’t about the natural desire to have children
This is about the desire to be loved – love for self
The desire to win – love for self
The desire to be recognized by others – love for self
