Lesson 2: Leading Souls to Christ
Text: 1 Corinthians 3:5-8
Theme: Your philosophy should be developed out of biblical theology.
This is something that I would like to discuss over the next two weeks. Your theology should determine your philosophy of soul winning and your philosophy should determine your methodology for sharing the Gospel
Unbiblical philosophies
Easy believism – Obedience is optional
Lordship salvation – Obedience is mandatory
Requiring repentance – Asking for forgiveness is required
You don’t receive (accept) Christ; He receives you
Faith is a gift that God must give you in order to be saved
Heb 10:14 For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.
Biblical theology
Listen to the commands in the Great Commission
(Matt 28:19; Mark 16:15; Luke 24:46-48; Acts 1:8)
The focus of our presentation of the Gospel then should not be, “how can I get this person to pray a prayer”, but how can I rightly represent God?
