Jeremiah had been warning the nation of Israel, not only regarding their sins, but also regarding the nation of Babylon that was assembling itself (Jer 4:5; 5:21-25; 8:14; 35:11)
This destruction of Jerusalem would be fierce and savage adding more understanding to the following verses: Lam 1:10, 11; 2:19, 20; 4:10; Jer 9:22)
