Some details about copying/preserving God’s Word

Clean animal skins                                          48-60 lines      per column

30 letters per column                         Black ink made w/ a special recipe

Each time they wrote the word Jehovah they had to wash themselves and their entire bodies (Gen 3:8, 9)

They had to have the page reviewed w/I 30 days

If they pages had errors all the pages would be set aside as unusable 

If any two letters touched the entire document would be discarded (letter or thread between)

Same amount of lines                         Same amount of words

Same amount of letters                      Same amount of each letter

Same amount of letters per line and per page

Center word and letter had to be the same

They were not allowed to be destroyed, they had to be stored or buried   

The copyist had to write letter by letter, NOT word by word… NO LETTER or word could be written by memory 

Each copy had to be inspected within 30 days.  They could correct up to three mistakes.  If it had more than three it would have to be buried or stored…
