Strong drink doesn't refer just to the potency of the drink, but of wine made from fruits and grains other than grapes
Strong drink was always intoxicating

Basic information:
There are three Hebrew words and two Greek words for wine
Wine from grapes could only get to 3-4% alcohol without sugar or yeast added to purposely ferment
Wine from grapes would turn to vinegar, not alcohol Biblical wines did not use grains or heat processing
There is no comparison to biblical wine and alcohol processed today
1 Cor 10:31 Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God. Is God glorified when a person drinks alcohol?
