ACTS 13 – UNTO THE UTTERMOST – FROM ANTIOCH

The Book of Acts
Text: Acts 13:24-37
Theme: Paul lays down a foundation of truth to bring them to
belief.
Paul starts by giving the history of the nation of Israel (Acts 13:19-
25)
Much could be said about the ministry of John the Baptist – and
maybe at some point I will take the time. John the Baptist’s
ministry was to prepare the way of the Lord (Luke 3:4) and the
message was given to him by the Lord (Luke 3:2)
Notice the descriptions of the audience to whom Paul would
preach (Acts 13:16, 26, 43)
Paul now switches from speaking of the history of the nation of
Israel to the writings that were given to them (Acts 13:27—37)
2 COR 3:14 But their minds were blinded: for until this day
remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old
testament; which vail is done away in Christ. 15 But even unto
this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart.
16 Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be
taken away.
