I can believe God is sovereign and trust in Him when I see 
His plan unfold – yet still not understand
God’s sovereignty in the life of Paul… Acts 9:16; 2 Tim 1:12; 2 Cor 
12:7-10; 1:4, 5)
Paul was told the certainty of suffering. We have been told the 
possibility of suffering (Phil 1:29; Acts 14:22)
The story of Acts 12:1-7 
The Lord intervened so that Peter wasn’t killed. Why didn’t He 
intervene for James?
2 PETER 1:2 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the 
knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, 
Grace gives us the strength to go on. Peace gives us the desire to 
go on
Be very careful when instructing others about the sovereignty 
of God. It looks a lot easier when you aren’t hurting and when 
the trial isn’t directly impacting you
