Theme: God did not insolate His Church from difficulty and death.
We discussed NT prophets & looked at an example in Acts 9:10-17
They were establishing Churches – Independent, autonomous
Churches
1. Self-supporting
2. Self-governing
3. Self-propagating 
Acts 12 was when the book of James was written
This is also when James is put to death
It was the will of Herod that both James and Peter would have been 
killed (Acts 12:1-6)
The Lord didn’t have James put to death; he had Peter 
spared from death
