WHO ARE THESE IN THE CHURCH?

Theme: What do the words used to describe those in the Church
teach us?
How are these referred to in the Church? Who are they?
*I will provide some of the references, but not all of them
Believers 4:4; 5:14, 18:8; 21:25 – to be persuaded to be true,
confidence, of conviction, to trust
Saved 2:21, 47 – rescued from danger & desctruction, to save from
suffering, (also translated) make whole, heal
Both physically and spiritually
Disciples (1:15; 6:1; 9:10) – the NT carries the idea of one who
learns and adapts into their life
Disciples of the Lord (9:1) – It just adds to the connection of thir
relationship to the Lord
Their own company (4:23; 15:22; 21:8) – belonging to one another
Church (2:47; 5:11) – belonging to the Lord, called out assembly
This/The way of salvation (9:2; 16:17; 19:23; 22:4; 24:14, 22) –
referring to the foundation of their Christianity
Saints 9:13, 32, 41; 26:10 – holy, separated unto God
Christians 11:26; 26:28 – follower of Christ, attachment or
adhearance to Christ
NOTE: you will not find them described as sinless or perfect. In
fact, you would see in a careful study that they struggle with sin
