PUTTING TO PRACTICE YOUR BELIEF ABOUT THE CHURCH
10/19/2025-Sunday School
Lesson 12: The Book of Acts
Text: Various
Theme: How we put to practice biblical theology regarding the Church.
In reading Acts 2 it seems obvious that something new is starting
Acts 11:15 refers to the beginning of the church
The church is made up of Jewish and Gentile believers worshipping together (John 10:16; Eph 3:4-6)
You can’t have the Church w/o Christ being the head
You can’t have the Church w/o the empowering of the Holy Ghost/Spirit
One fold, the body, the Bride, the Church
U What I caution against is an extreme universal belief
Of the over 110 references to the ekklesia less than 10 of them have a “total” view of the Church (Acts 2:47; 5:14; 20:28)
The emphasis of the Word of God is local assemblies
Practical application to beliefs
Can part of the Church, not be part of a Church? Why wouldn’t they want to be?
Christians are to be part of a local body (1 Cor 12:12-27)
No church is perfect, but God wants you to be part of it
