Theme: When was the Church established?
Church (English) – belonging to the Lord
Church/assembly – called together assembly (Acts 7:38; 19:39, 41)
Spiritual – Called out from the world and assembling as believers for various purposes
When was the Church first mentioned? (Matt 16:18; 18:17)
When did the Church first assemble?
Acts 1:4; 4:31; 11:25, 26; 15:22, 25)
The Church is the bride of Christ
The Church is the body of Christ
In reading Acts 2 it seems obvious that something new is starting
The church is made up of Jewish and Gentile believers worshipping together (John 10:16; Eph 3:4-6)
You can’t have a church without a Head (Eph 1:20-23)
You can’t have a Church without the indwelling and empowering of the Holy Spirit (Acts 1 & 2)
Acts 11:15 refers to the beginning of the church
