Text: 1 Thessalonians 2:1-12
Theme: The qualities that would make our Church an authentic, biblical ministry.
What is an authentic, biblical ministry?
Authentic – genuine & pure, v. 3
Biblical – using the Bible & living by Its principles, v. 10
Ministry – as opposed to a business for profit, v. 9
I. The motivation of an authentic biblical ministry (vv. 1-4)
Our ultimate motivation is not to have a huge Church, but to have an authentic biblical ministry that rightly represents God – DOXOLOGICAL
II. The methodology of an authentic biblical ministry (vv. 5-12)
He mentions the negatives – meaning, that which they didn’t use (vv. 3-6)
He mentions the positives – unique qualities that allowed them to minister to the soul (vv. 7-11)
The concluding purpose is found in verse 12
