1 Corinthians 10:1-5

When we talk about God’s grace in the midst of temptation, when does that begin?  After we have sinned?  But we would still be left defeated and guilty.

Wouldn’t it give you great hope to learn that the Lord is working to help keep you from sin?!

Paul’s personal testimony (1 Cor 9:24-27)

I.    Examples you should learn from (vv. 1-12)

Notice the contrast between “all” and “some of them”   Verses 6 & 11 explain how we can learn from them

II.   Exhortations you should follow (vv. 6, 11, 13-15)

God’s grace isn’t there to allow you to do what you want, but to provide a way of escape from temptation

Heb 2:17 Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people. 18 For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.
