I’m in a dark place – How do I get out?
Stabilizing truths for troubled times
Has it ever appeared to you that the Lord forsook you? Do you currently feel like you have been forsaken? Why do you feel you have been forsaken, because you have trials?
What is your opinion?
What is the biblical truth?
LORD, FORSAKE ME NOT (Psa 27:9, 10; 38:21, 11; 71:9, 18)
1 Chron 28:9 And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the LORD searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever.
What is it to be forsaken? No longer give further care, leave in a destitute condition… to be abandoned
C. H. Spurgeon asks a great question. “If the Lord had meant to leave us, why did he begin with us?”
Consider now the text: Psalm 37:23-25
As NT Christians we don’t need to fear…
God has promised to never leave us nor forsake us
God has promised to love us with an everlasting love
God has promised to have mercy that are new…
